Filter Tools

Depending on your needs, you may wish to see more or less of the graph at any one time. There exists a wide variety of easy to use tools that allow you to filter nodes out of your display, or to show more levels of a graph.

This screenshot shows the slider control that lets you specify the depth of the graph.
This screenshot is of another filter tool that, in this case, allows for a user to only look at server computers where there memory is under or above a certain threshold.

Configuration of these filters is accomplished through simple XML configuration files, and filtering can be performed on any attribute of a node.
This screenshot is of a ranged filter tool that allows for filtering of information based on the value of certain properties. Instead of the filter tool above, ranged filters give more control to the user, as they can slide the range to suit their needs, as well as enable and disable particular filters.

Other Visualisation Tools

When information being visualised has date and time values, Centruflow can plot these nodes on a timeline. This provides an additional means of finding the information relevant to your needs.
When displaying information in a tree layout, it is often very useful to be able to easily compare the nodes on screen. This tool allows for sorting to be easily performed based on properties common to a type of node.
Basing the size of all nodes on an attribute is very similar to sorting, but is supported in other layouts such as the force layout, as shown in this screenshot.
Another option to make it easy to compare nodes within the visualisation is to have them be automatically coloured based on the value of a property.
